Zoe Tag

5 06 2008

We’re attending a children’s party on Saturday. Lateli, I’ve been making use of my scrapping paper sheets for making either gift bags or decoupaging them on recycled boxes for presents. This time, I don’t have to make any elaborate gift wrapping because it came in a GAP gift box. I figured, at least they can recycle the box after they open it. But still, I want to make something special to put on the present. So, I was able to make a gift tag.

I used coasters from Target, a de-constructed silk flower, paper flower, brads, ribbon, stickers, word beads, fiskars paper shapers, and ink. It was a fun project. I’m really trying to be more eclectic, putting more elements together to make it more fun. I was used to the really plain and simple look, but there’s no harm trying different things, right?

Mulberry Cupcake Card

28 05 2008

I really need to start de-stashing. I have so much supplies that I might end up not using after all. Well, as soon as I get organized, there will be several blog candy giveaways that will be available!

For the meantime, check out one of my newest cards…

Rubber stamp Frenzy

26 05 2008

I’ve been stamp window shopping a lot online, I’ve just been hesitating since I’m not sure how big some of the images will turn out. But I’ve been lucky to pick up some at Michael’s, Once Upon a Page, Katscrap and Big Lots. I need to drop by JoAnn’s later today.

Here’s my loot from Big Lots the other day…
stamps

I’m enjoying playing with rubber stamps lately. I ever purchased some chalk ink. It’s so cool!

For the card below, I stamped a big pink flower, cut it out and glued it onto pink cardstock. I also stamped the sentiment and inked around the rectangles. Finally I used ribbons a button and embroidery floss to finish the decorative elements.

Happy 105th Birthday

19 05 2008

Rebecca from hemidemisemiquaver mentioned that her Nanny will be turning 105 this coming May 23. She posted a challenge to have 105 birthday cards sent to this lovely woman. It was a challenge I couldn’t pass up.

I’ve been praying to start a ministry/organization that will deliver handmade greeting cards and probably a gift to the elderly, sick and orphans. It’s a lonely world out there. A little kindness goes a long way. What a good way to start.

Anyway, if you’d like to participate, please visit Rebecca and let her know you’d like to join!

Once Upon a Page

19 05 2008

To celebrate National Scrapbooking month, Once Upon a Page had a special event yesterday, May 17 and today, May 18, 2008. They had special workshops, discounts, snacks and a petting zoo for the kids.

How can I resist a special sale?

I actually love going to Once Upon a Page. They have a wide variety of products you won’t find at Michaels and Joanns. They also have a big cropping area and a play area for the kiddies.

If you’re in town, you should drop by and support the local businesses.

Aaron had fun meeting an alpaca at the petting zoo!

Stamping

17 05 2008

I’ve always said that RUBBER STAMPING is the hardest thing for me to get into.  Don’t get me wrong, I love the products and the results. I’ve even bought some stamps from Stampin Up and some when I go to Joann’s, but I can’t seem to come up with decent results.  Below is once again an attempt to use rubber stamping on a card.
